     Toastmasters in action!

As with other organizations, our club is run by an EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE consisting of club members. Ideally, the Executive Committee will have 8 members – this will vary from club to club. The committee consists of the following - don’t let the fancy titles turn you off!

President –  General supervision and operation of the club.

Immediate Past President – Provides advice and guidance.
Vice-President Education – Plans club meetings.
Vice–President Membership – Conducts membership building programmes.
Vice-President Public Relations - Promotes the club locally.

Secretary – Handles club correspondence and keeps club files. Takes minutes.

Treasurer – Keeps record of all club financial transactions.
Sergeant at Arms – Maintains club equipment, opens club meetings.

Club Executive Committee meetings are held once a month. These take place at the club venue on a Wednesday evening at 6:30pm before a weekly club meeting. Meetings last for about 45 minutes. Being a committee member is a great way of getting to know our club, club members and how the club operates.

You may wish to be more involved in our club, perhaps utilize skills and experience gained in other clubs and organizations.
How about carrying on the good work with us?

If you have not had any such experience, joining our committee would be an ideal opportunity to gain the valuable leadership skills and experience of being on an organizing committee.

Please see Contact Us in the Main Menu

Toastmasters is a non-profit making educational organization. Membership is open to anyone over 18 years of age.
Although we use fun and fellowship during our meetings and we do have a social side, NORTHSIDE TOASTMASTERS CLUB is not a social club.
Our club has a mixed membership of ages, abilities and experience from a variety of different backgrounds. We all have one thing in common- a shared desire to develop good oral communication, including being able to speak confidently in public, improve leadership skills, support our fellow club members to do the same and be able to enjoy ourselves in the process.
Toastmasters is a participation sport- all club members are encouraged to participate fully in club activities. This includes conducting meetings, impromptu speechmaking, prepared speeches and giving helpful evaluations. Every effort is made to give club members the opportunity to speak in some capacity at each meeting.

NORTHSIDE TOASTMASTERS CLUB will give you the skills and confidence you need to effectively express yourself in any situation. Whether you are a professional, student, home parent or retired, TOASTMASTERS is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication skills. By learning to effectively formulate and express your ideas, you open up an entirely new world of possibilities. You'll be more persuasive and confident when giving speeches and presentations,  and you'll improve your one-to-one dealings with others. All this, while enjoying yourself at the same time!
